A group of Japanese engineers have created a female human-looking android. It can't do much at the moment, but this is still the beginning. I haven't heard any comments on it, but I have a feeling this sort of technology could be a huge help with artificial limbs. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/471
Something feels a bit wrong to me with artifical light, so I'm looking forward to a new form of lighting technology from Canada. It's a very lost energy-costing dish that sends light from the sun (without the UV) through fiberoptic cables into the house. They're expecting it to be on the market in 2007. http://pesn.com/2005/07/27/9600139_Fibe
Bad news: According to a research group in Israel, cell phone usage can irrevocably damage your eyes. The tests haven't yet been done on humans, but it seems to be yet another thing bad with cell phones. http://www.primidi.com/2005/07/27.html
